Has anyone else been hooked by the music reality show I-LAND? I’ll admit, I only started watching because I knew BTS would make an appearance in the August 14th episode, and I wanted to be up to speed on the show before they walked through the door.

But as soon as I started watching – I WAS HOOKED!

The concept: 22 K-pop boy band wannabes participate in a variety of vocal and dance challenges to make it into a top 12 that stay in I-LAND (the high tech fancy studio) for the week. If you are below the top 12, you move to the Ground (basically a shed on the property) and try and make your way back to I-LAND.

So, right off the bat, all of the contestants are EXTREMELY talented. Popping, locking, and insane dance moves from minute one of the show. Not to mention their vocals and ability to pick up complicated choreography in a couple days!

As I watch the challenges, I think almost every single one of the contestants is doing an amazing job and should be in I-LAND. But let me tell you – the judging on this show is another level of HARSH!

For example, in the first test, one participant got a score of 40 out of 100. And you may think for a score so low he forgot all the lyrics or dance moves or just stood in the corner. OH NO! He danced well, and performed just like the other contestants, but didn’t react when his mic fell off! VERY HARSH!!

But we all know, I LOVE the drama. Boy band reality TV + drama + HARSH judging = RIGHT UP MY ALLEY

Now that I am all caught up, I will be participating in the global voting from now on to make sure my favorites make it through the to next round!
