90s British Boy Bands – but who was the BEST??

Well, this one will be DIFFICULT! There are so many British Boy Bands of the 90s, and they were all AMAZING! But for this throwdown, I have picked my top four – any more would just be unmanageable! Don’t forget to vote for your favorite at the bottom! The contenders are:

East-17

A bad-boy filled band with an original line up of Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy, and Terry Coldwell, the group was one of the UK’s most popular boy bands – pitted as the bad-boy rivals to clean cut Take That. My favorite East-17 songs: Deep and It’s Alright.

Take That

Take That, originally Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, Robbie Williams and Jason Orange, were a HUGE boy band in the 90s – and still make hits today. Everyone has heard their song Back for Good, but they have many, many more songs – my favorites include Patience, Pray and Never Forget.

Westlife

Westlife are an Irish boy band, formed a bit later in the 90s. Original members were Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, and Brian McFadden – but Brian left in 2004 to pursue a solo career. Tons and tons of hits (along with a lot of catchy covers) including my favorites, Amazing and Bop Bop Baby.

5ive

Last but not least, we have 5ive (or Five). Again, formed later in the decade, the band was made up of members Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love and Jason “J” Brown. They had huge success in their short time together – especially in Europe, South America and Asia. So many favorite songs from this band, but if I had to pick mine are If Ya Gettin’ Down, Everybody Get Up and Slam Dunk (Da Funk) are my top tracks!
