GUYS – I am SOOOO EXCITED about this one!!!

The K-POP boy band challenge is the last in the series before the CHALLENGE of CHAMPIONS! ICYMI, so far we have have evaluated 80s boybands, 90s British boybands, 90s North American boy bands and most recently 2010 boy bands!

There are a lot of K-POP boy bands to pick from (in case you have been completely in the dark about how these bands have been dominating!!), but I am just going to put who I think are the TOP 4 in this throwdown; BTS, EXO, BIGBANG and SHINee.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVE! And I have included some background on each below the poll in case you need examples of their music before you make up your mind.

BTS

BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, blend dance-oriented K-pop with hip-hop influences and they do a lot of composing, producing themselves. The band is comprised of seven members: RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jin, Suga, and Jungkook. Check out my fave BTS song Boy with Luv

EXO

EXO is separated into two subgroups, EXO-M and EXO-K, performing music in different languages; Mandarin and Korean respectively. Currently, EXO consists of nine members: Xiumin, Baekhyun, Suho, Lay, Chen, Chanyeol, Sehun, D.O., and Kai. I think EXOs best track is Monster.

BIGBANG

BIGBANG was formed in 2006 by five members; G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri. In 2017 they all entered for their mandatory military enlistment, and Seungri retired (there were some sandals leading up to it!), but before that, they were considered the “kings” of K-POP. My favorite BIGBANG song is of course Bang Bang Bang!

SHINee

SHINee was formed by SM Entertainment in 2008 with members Onew, Key, Minho, Taemin and the late Jonghyun. The group’s musical impact in their native country has earned them numerous accolades and the title “Princes of K-pop”. They have so many great songs to chose from but I LOVE the Everybody video and dance break!

This battle will be tough!!
