Just to recap, it’s been about 30 minutes since BTS’s new album BE dropped, along with their new single Life Goes On. And BTS is back in a BIG way!

I still haven’t made it through the whole album, but super impressively, BTS took a bigger roll in its creation – doing more of the writing, music composition, overall production, concept development, and visual design themselves than ever before.

And as we all know from the many YouTube lives over the past months, each BTS member took on a specific role in the making of the new album; Jimin was project manager for music, V was the visual director, J-Hope was in charge of choreography, Suga and Jin were in charge of the album jacket, Jungkook was the director of Life Goes On music video, and RM was the music director.

And while each member started out in a specific role, BTS recently said in an interview with NDTV that their work on the album transformed into a solid group effort with collective input.

In case you haven’t seen it – here is Life Goes On.

• The song. While their last release – Dynamite – was completely in English, Life Goes On is back to their roots, partially in English, mostly in Korean. The song is bit more mellow and low key – but I guess it’s an appropriate follow up to the catchy, make you wanna dance, Dynamite.
• The video. Completely directed by Jungkook, it has a GCF (JK’s side project) feel. It gives us more insight into what the members went through this year and how they felt – and reinforces the message that everyone, no matter where you live and your situation, COVID has affected us all. And you can tell the members had fun making it and showing us a bit of the behind the scenes to their lives.
• The dance moves. There were none. And I have to say I missed them. I know not every song can be a big dance number, but still – I live for BTS dance routines. I hope the next single features a some serious choreography!
