Hot on the heels of a very exciting couple of months of RuPaul’s Drag Race (both UK Drag Race Season 2 AND Season 13 of regular Drag Race wrapped up in the last 2 weeks), I thought it was time to rank some of my FAVORITE queens! As you may have guessed – I have watched ALL the seasons and love some good old drag drama! I’m a big fan of the pageant queen and the comedy queen – but above all else, I LOVE a lip sync THROWDOWN! Here’s my list of Drag Race faves!

Jujubee – Season 1, All Stars Season 2 and 5

Comedy queen, look queen and lip sync assassin, Jujubee is the only Drag Race contestant to rank top three of the competition three times. Every time Jujubee takes the stage, I enjoy everything about her performance, and was really rooting for her to win All Stars 5. Maybe she’ll make another comeback in All Stars 6??

Shangela Laquifa Wadley – Season 2 and 3, All Stars Season 3

After appearing and re-appearing in the early seasons of Drag Race, Shangela had a glow up before appearing on All Stars season 3 – just narrowly missing out on the crown after being voted out by the previously eliminated queens. Shangela is an absolutely insane dancer and performer, and has appeared in many TV shows and movies – including A Star is Born. And she is one of the best Beyonce tribute performers out there – even performing a medley of Beyonce hits for Queen Bey herself!

Baga Chipz – UK Season 1

Baga burst onto the UK Drag scene and as soon as she uttered the words “Much Better!”, she stole my heart! She is a comedy queen through and through and never fails to pay her character to the max. Have you seen her as Margaret Thatcher?? She came in third in her season and continues to host an online recap comedy show with the Vivienne.

Vanessa Vanjie Mateo – Season 10 and 11

Miss Vanjie, Miss Vanjie, Miss Vanjie… those six word will forever live in my heart! With a voice like nails on a chalk board, Vanjie is a BIG personality in a tiny package! Vanjie is someone you can’t help but love – and even in her one episode in season 10 we knew she would be back. And in season 11 and gave us A LOT of content, with her romance with Brook Lynn Hytes, her performance in the drag challenges and her OUTSTANDING lip syncing. As soon as the Werk the World tour is back on the road and featuring Vanjie – I’m first in line!

Alyssa Edwards – Season 5 and All Stars 2

You might be noticing a trend here – I am a big fan of the DANCERS. And Alyssa Edwards is the ORIGINAL dancer. Not only is she a lip sync assassin, she also runs a dance school in Mesquite, Texas and has a Netflix show, Dancing Queen, chronicling her adventures with her dance moms. And her personality is sooooo outrageous, I am pretty sure I can have a whole text conversation in Alyssa Edwards memes and gifs. She is the ultimate!
