I know it’s been a while since my last post – August and September just flew by! And a lot has been going on in the boy band world – especially with BTS and SVT, who we know are my top two favorites in the boy band realm right now!

SEVENTEEN: As you know, I’ve been spending a lot of time with Carats and absolutely LOVE the band’s latest release “Your Choice” from June. As part of the promotions, SVT participated in their own season of In the SOOP (BTS did season one last fall). In the SOOP gives viewers a (supposedly) non scripted and unfiltered look at the band, members and dynamics. And given SVT is 13 members strong, it was VERY entertaining seeing activities, who wanted to what, who hung out with who and all the other shenanigans the members got up to in their week of “downtime”. Now we wait for the release of SVT next mini-album Attacca on Oct 22 to see what else the band has in store for us….

And speaking of shows….has everyone watched Squid Game???

SQUID GAME: This is a K-Drama, and one that has absolutely taken the world by storm! It is one of Netflix’s highest streamed shows of ALL TIME and is (in my opinion) a cross between the 1980s movie Surviving the Game and the Hunger Games trilogy. There are some (really unexpected) twists and turns along the way and it is guaranteed to keep you guessing – right until the end. Worth the watch for any action fan out there. And will there be a season 2??? That is what I want to know!

BTS collab: BTS is back with another collab – or multiple collabs if you count the Megan Thee Stallion version of Butter (which I do!). But right now I am totally focused 100% on My Universe – the catchiest song this fall! After the BTS version of Fix You, as part of the MTV unplugged I think most Army were hoping for a BTS + Coldplay collaboration – and we weren’t let down! I have watched the “making of My Universe” video several times now, and the collaboration between Chris Martin and BTS is amazing – different styles coming together, killer harmonies and BTS singing in Korean, I love it all! This will definitely be at the top of my Spotify playlist at the end of the year. What did you think?

Honorable mention: Prison Playbook – Post Squid Game, I was on the hunt for another K-Drama to capture my short attention span – and I found Prison Playbook! About an incarcerated pro-baseballer, the show is filled with emotions and a healthy dose of humor (so far), and fingers crossed the next 12 episodes are equally as entertaining! I know I’m behind and it’s from 2017, but definitely worth a watch IMO!
