The G-Dragon that is 🐉
FINALLY! The king (or dragon) of kpop has returned! I know I am six months late on this post, and I missed the hype of G-Dragon’s comeback with POWER, but I’m not too late to get in on the hype surrounding the new album, Übermensch, released on February 25, 2025.
But first – why do we care? Well dear readers, we care because G-Dragon, or Kwon Ji-yong is the leader of one of the biggest K-pop boy bands, BIG BANG, a major fashion icon, current Chanel ambassador and creator of PeaceMinusOne, and the author of over 175 songs registered in the Korean Music Copyright Association.
The last time GD released any new music was in 2017, before he took a hiatus to fulfil his mandatory military service. And when he got out in 2020, everyone waited….and waited….and waited. Until finally the Year of the Dragon arrived and GD decided he HAD to do something to commemorate the year of the Dragon. So we got POWER.
I personally love it. But more than that, I LOVE seeing BIG BANG back together as a threesome and performing at major awards shows!
And what’s next for GD? A world tour of course! And a TV show, Good Day, pulling together all kinds of celebs all in the hopes of creating a commemorative song for the year. I haven’t watched much of Good Day yet since I don’t have Disney+ but what I have seen on YouTube is amazing. I mean, come on, GD AND Seventeen in one show….that is the ultimate entertainment!

G dragon is not as good as j hope for many reasons. Mostly his dancing is not as good but ok he is still 5 out of 10 good.
