I know 2020 has been A YEAR for many. And I am no different! I tried to stay busy by taking up new hobbies (blogging included!) but still probably watched more TV than necessary! But let’s face it – sometimes you need a bit of entertainment to keep your mind off of all the CRAZY happening in the world! And during the pandemic, I had a couple go-to shows of choice – K-Dramas (which I’ll discuss in detail in another post) and RuPaul’s Drag Race!
I have been Drag Race fan for years and in normal times, have a regular viewing night with friends to watch the latest episodes as they air each week. And of course I have my favorites in the drag world – those Queens that entertain me no matter the situation! Seriously, I am pretty sure I can have a whole text conversation in Alyssa Edwards memes and gifs. She is the ultimate!
And for the first part of 2020, we had RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 and All Stars 5 and of course the season closest to my heart as a Canadian – Canada’s Drag Race to get us through lockdown! And they were exciting seasons to watch over zoom calls with friends – Jujubee and Shae in the ultimate queen throwdown in All Stars, and all of the super critical, dramatic and amazing runways in Canada’s Drag Race. And of course Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman as the judge we all love to hate! I know he got a looooooot of shade over his critiques, but I LOVED HIM on the show!
And so now, as many of us are in, or entering a second lock-down over the holiday season, Mama Ru has come through for us with more Drag Race content!! We have two amazing new seasons to look forward to in January – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 on New Years Day and UK Drag Race season 2! And after all of the UK Season 1 shenanigans – I am looking forward to see what this season has in store!
